Truck Driver (CDL Class A)/Rigger
Reports To: Operations Manager
Pay Range: $25-$35 per hour
The Truck Driver/Rigger will drive a diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport and deliver heavy machinery and equipment. Experience in rigging and moving heavy equipment into a variety of environments is a requirement of the job.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers and be an external liaison to the customer.
- Receiving and delivering customer equipment and machinery courteously, safely, accurately, productively and in a timely fashion.
- Identifies the job specifications and transports the equipment/machinery to the designated customer site.
- Regularly works with heavy machinery and tools. May use a pallet jack and forklift.
- Inspects the truck & trailer for defects before and after trips and submits a report indicating truck conditions or need for repair.
- Majority of driving and delivery in surrounding area.
- Leveling and anchoring machinery.
- Controlling movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
Education and Experience:
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL), required.
- OSHA 10, preferred
- Experience as a rigger/mover, preferred.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a variety of industrial environments. This role routinely uses personal protective equipment to include ear/eye protection, a hard hat, steel toe boots, gloves, and others as instances dictate.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and requires travel in the greater Rochester region.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be able to walk, carry, bend, and lift on a regular basis. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at one time.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate with co-workers, customers, and the internal management team.
