Founded by Ajay Kochhar and Tim Johnston with a mission to solve the global battery recycling issue, Li-Cycle has since grown to the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America. As business began to thrive, Li-Cycle sought various locations to support their unique Spoke and Hub battery recycling process.

The Customer Request

In 2020, we were recruited to install Li-Cycle’s second Spoke facility at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York. After a successful installation that finished on schedule despite delays from COVID-19, we were brought on to complete the installation of their third and fourth Spoke facilities in Arizona and Alabama.

Rochester Spoke Facility

Custom rigging and installation services
- Prepared the building for installation
- Offload and set seven skids and conveyor into the second-story opening using cranes and a double hydraulic gantry system
- Equipment leveling and alignment

Steel fabrication and installation services
- Fabrication per AISC specifications
- OHSA compliant stairs
- Welding completed by certified welders
- Made necessary modifications to existing handrails

Arizona and Alabama Spoke Facilities
