Please join us in welcoming the latest employees to join our steadily growing team. Meet Jordan, Mary Carol, and Kim. They each bring a diverse background to Boulter and we are excited to have them on board.
We recently asked them a few questions to get to know them better. Read on to find out what they had to say.
Jordan
Accounts Payable Specialist
Jordan is our new Accounts Payable Specialist and will be overseeing all accounts payable and vendor relations. She joins the team well-versed in accounting software applications and will help improve reporting functions within the finance department. In addition to her primary responsibilities, she also assists with accounts receivables, cash payments, and payroll.
Tell us a bit about your background:
I graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. My career started in the Veterinary industry, where I worked most recently as an Accounting Analyst for a company that owns several animal hospitals. Entering the construction industry has clearly been a dramatic change, but I’m having a great time at Boulter!
What do you like most about working at Boulter?
Boulter has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I felt welcome and comfortable right away as a new employee, and there is room for advancement for those who choose to pursue it. There are numerous employees who have been here for several decades, and that’s certainly a testament to the wonderful work environment. I’m fortunate to be part of this team!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I have ridden horses since I was a kid and spent most of my time doing that up until last year when my horse was injured. I really hope to get another horse within the next year or so, but until then, I’m staying busy planning my summer 2020 wedding.
Mary Carol
Accounting Administrative Specialist
Stop by our office or call our main number and you’ll be greeted by Mary Carol, our new Accounting Administrative Specialist. Mary Carol comes to Boulter with experience in payroll and sales systems from her previous career with a payroll services company. In her new role, she manages weekly payroll, supports dispatch by providing work orders for field employees, and assists the warehouse supervisor by managing inbound and outbound materials. She will also provide sales and marketing support for HubSpot, Boulter’s customer relationship management platform.
Tell us a bit about your background:
I have 10 years of experience working with a payroll company where I supported the executive management team and sales and marketing manager.
What do you like most about working at Boulter?
I love the history of Boulter, and especially the people!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing golf in the summer months, and keeping active through fitness.
Kim
Customer Service Specialist
Kim is part of our customer service team, the behind-the-scenes force that keeps our sales department running at full capacity. Her primary functions are to prepare invoices, review contracts, provide the necessary information needed for payroll processing, and support the dispatcher’s administrative duties.
Tell us a bit about your background:
I have been working in the accounting and finance field for 25 years. Previously I worked at Harris Insights & Analytics as an Accounting Specialist, GateHouse Media as a Fixed Assets Accountant, and Lewis Tree Service as a Fixed Assets Junior Accountant.
What do you like most about working at Boulter?
What I most like about working at Boulter is the atmosphere. As a fifth-generation run company, they strive to be family-driven. The flexible, family-oriented culture is the main reason I was excited to start a new chapter of my professional career here.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I am not working and the weather is nice I enjoy camping, gardening, and the outdoors with my son, husband, and dogs. When the weather turns cooler we enjoy football and hockey.
